Provider discusses the assessment process with their licensing consultant, who submits an assessment request to NCRLAP.
After NCRLAP receives the assessment request, we contact you by phone to schedule the your assessment(s). Immediately following this, we mail you a pre-assessment information packet which contains several forms that must be completed before we can conduct the assessment. Your assessment will be scheduled at the earliest possible date that NCRLAP can send a qualified assessor. We aim to contact you within two business days of receiving the assessment request, and we usually attempt to schedule the assessment within 2 to 3 weeks after receiving your assessment request.
You will receive a confirmation phone call prior to your scheduled assessment date, usually one week before the first observation.
On the scheduled assessment date(s), you should expect two NCRLAP assessors to participate in the observation. This process usually takes one day per assessment and, in multi-classroom centers, we try to complete all assessments for a facility within a two week period.
Within two working days of the completed assessment, our staff should have submitted their initial draft of your report for proofreading. The report is proofread and edited by one or more qualified people and the editing process may required several cycles where the assessor and proofreader attempt to write the strongest report possible. If your program has more than one assessment, all of the assessments are reviewed together to ensure consistency across reports. In general, we aim to complete each report within 10-14 business days.
Once all of the reports are finalized for a facility, NCRLAP staff sends a final report to your licensing consultant (or More at Four coordinator) for their review. The consultant is asked to read the report and then share the results of the assessment(s) with you.
