What are NCRLAP Certifications?
NCRLAP certifications are awarded to qualified staff who successfully fulfill a carefully crafted training process related to a specific duty or responsibility. For example, the Scheduler certification is awarded to someone who completes the training related to scheduling assessments and who demonstrate competence in that area. A formal certification is created to attest to the achievement of the staff member.
Some types of certification are required for some NCRLAP positions, while other certifications are available to everyone.
Other types of certification are available only to pre-qualified individuals. For example, assessors must "sign-off" and demonstrate 85% or higher reliability to be awarded a scale-specific Environment Rating Scale Certification. Similarly, the scale-specific Designated Trainer certification is only awarded to staff members with 90% or higher reliability on a given scale and who demonstrate skill in supervision and training.
The Importance of NCRLAP Certifications
Certain areas of responsibility (e.g., proofreading reports, scheduling, providing training) are critical to our project and may only be completed by well-qualified staff. The certification process helps ensure that we match well-qualified individuals with these important responsibilities.
How can I get certified?
NCRLAP staff members interested in earning any certification should contact their supervisor to discuss how best to proceed. Our ability to provide certification training is currently limited (due to other priorities) yet we will try to honor each request for training.
Who manages certifications?
NCRLAP staff with 'Certification Manager' status can add, update, and remove certifications. Contact these people for help in this area.
